Let's take a Look

Visiting your dentist regularly is essential for you to enjoy a lifetime of good dental health. Even with exceptional care, problems and issues can arise, which is why we advise you to book your Smyl appointment every six months so we can provide you with a comprehensive exam and cleaning, and detect any minor issues before they become big problems.

At Smyl, we pride ourselves on providing thorough and compassionate care, and building exceptional relationships with our patients. We don’t just care about your teeth, we care about you in general. Regular checkups allow us to get to know you and your smile better, and answer any health-related questions you might have. Your dental exam and cleaning typically involves:

Cleaning

One of our hygienists will begin by closely examining your teeth and gums to look for signs of potential issues and any areas that may require special attention. Using a hooked tool, we “scale” your teeth to remove any built-up plaque and tartar between your teeth and along your gum line. Next, we polish and floss your teeth to lift out any stains and restore your smile.

Exam

If this is your first visit to Smyl, your new dentist will begin by asking questions about your dental history. Then we will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums and jaw. Depending on the date of your last x-ray and the condition of your mouth, we may need to take imaging with our digital x-ray equipment. Finally, if we have discovered any issues through our exam, we will consult with you and advise on your treatment.
